Elina is a country girl from a small village outside Vilnius, as we can see from her rosy cheeks and big shiny eyes.

QUITE APART from her warm personality and sense of humor, Elina is that rare creature whose natural beauty is untainted by even a pinch of self-importance. She doesn't waste the money she earns modeling on designer clothes and little luxuries, but helps her parents, who both work on the Lithuanian railways.

Elina has no desire to head for the big city with all its rewards and temptations. She has a boyfriend who lives in the same village and they want to stay together and have a big crop of babies. Elina had just finished high school and had only just turned 18 when Petter Hegre discovered her on his expedition to Vilnius.
